I'm looking for something similar to remote start, but not exactly remote start. Let's say I'm driving somewhere and I plan to make a quick stop which would be 10-15 minutes. I don't want to turn off the car and I'd leat it run to keep the cabin temp aas set. Can I leave the car running and lock it? I'm not feeling like risking doing it and ending up with a running car that I can't get into

You're in luck, most modern cars (especially if you've got a push start system) will let you leave the engine running and lock the doors from the outside. I do this all the time on quick stops, just step out, hit the lock button on the key fob, and the cabin stays comfy while everything stays secure.

You're overthinking it, yes, you can leave it running and lock it, depending on the car ,most newer vehicles with push button start and keyless entry let you step out with the fob, lock the doors manually or with a second fob, and keep the engine running but yeah test it first in your driveway so you're not stuck outside looking like a clown lol
